据说清代乾隆年间，有位制茶器匠人正在赶制几把茗盏，而仅仅只是将泥土打造成形，就耗费了大量时间，一天，他拿起一块泥土准备再次打磨，却不小心拿起妻子梳头用的梳子，用它来打磨，使得泥土变得极其光滑，从此制茶器匠人们开始使用牛角制作的小工具作为打磨工具，将其命名为“牛角片”。
