LIAO KAI - A MASTER OF SCULPTURE

Born in 1970, Liao Kai is a renowned sculptor from Guizhou, China. He is a member of the British Royal Society of Sculptors and the Chinese Association of Artistic Crafts. Liao holds certifications as a sculptor from the National Committee for Urban Sculpture under China's Ministry of Construction and is an Advanced Environmental Artist with the Chinese Association for Building Culture and Arts.

In 2001, Liao began exploring historical themes in his work. His series has been highly praised by industry professionals and solidified his position as one of today's leading creators on significant historical subjects.

In 2004, he was commissioned to create red sculptures for the Yunyi Meeting Memorial Hall; his piece "Historical Turning Point" earned widespread acclaim. In 2005, he collaborated with Qianzhong Anti-Japanese Memorial Museum to design "Molten Fury," a sculpture dedicated to anti-Japanese struggles during World War II.

Between 2006-07, Liao worked with Sidaqi Memorial Museum to craft sculptures commemorating the Long March period titled "Sidaqi." In 2009, he was entrusted by Chengdu Military District to create "The Lou Shan Battle Series," honoring Red Army soldiers who fought at Lou Shan Pass during their long march.

For her contributions as female soldiers during wartime in China's history, he created “Bathing Angel” – an inspiring piece that celebrates these unsung heroes. In addition to this bronze masterpiece,
